Get out your comfort zone - often banded about but what does it mean?

"We want you to get out of your comfort zone."

Sure.

Very easy to say and to some extent an overly-saturated phrase - but what exactly does it mean in practice?

To me it means:

- Not being afraid of looking foolish

- Dropping your ego and swallowing your pride

- Stretching yourself to the point that you'll look and feel very vulnerable

- To not be scared of the unknown (which is almost always worse in our minds than it is in reality)

- Embracing the process as a steep learning curve

- To admit when you don't know something and not to take things personally

It's something we all should do, as often as possible.

It's the only way to grow.

As Charlie Munger put it:

“Acknowledging what you don't know is the dawning of wisdom.”
