Is the world really so black & white?

"Goal setting doesn't work..."
"Cold calling is dead..."
"Cold email is over-saturated..."
Polarising points of view...
Attention seeking in order to ignite debate?
Perhaps it's symptomatic of the times we live in.
To elicit a strong reaction either way.
So, a polarising opinion is - by design - written for maximum impact.
Can the world ever really be thought of in such black & white terms?
Or is it infinitely more complex and therefore insulting to our intelligence to think in terms of either/or - yes/no?
- Cold calling is only dead if you lack the necessary skills. Otherwise it's never been so good.
- Cold email may be busier than ever, but some salespeople are getting over a 50% response rate.
- Goal setting can pay huge dividends, if done correctly - supported by consistent positive habits & a strong 'why'. It provides direction & inspiration.
So take everything you read with a big pinch of salt.
And then a bit more.
But more importantly - find what works for you.
