An ambitious young guy, and a hard worker.
Yet passing through gatekeepers was the bane of Reggie's existence.
"Who are you?"
...they would ask sternly, just like his mother.
"Reggie"
"Where are you calling from?"
"ABC company."
..."he said to send an email."
..."he said he's not interested"
..."he said he doesn't know you"
yada yada yada..
A common dance.
and standard practice when you sound like a salesperson.
Salesperson 0 / Gatekeeper 1
...Then one Tuesday morning, Reggie was again asked which company he was calling from.
"Taylor - my full name is Reggie Taylor." He said quite firmly after a frustrating morning of calling.
He'd mistakenly answered the wrong question
...the line had gone a bit crackly...and he only realised as the gatekeeper responded with...
"Just putting you through..."
'Oh what!' he thought to himself. 'my full name... spoken assertively...actually worked?!.'
And from that day onwards he'd solved his biggest prospecting problem.
He would now breeze through the majority of gatekeepers with this new found strategy, that he'd stumbled upon quite accidentally.
What a blessing that turned out to be!
