Stop apologising for doing your job!

"Sorry for..."
"I know you're probably busy..."
"I apologise for..."
"I'm sorry for existing..."
OK so the fourth is a slight exaggeration...but you get the idea & it's what the other three convey anyway.
To any salesperson out there using this type of apologetic language, one word for you:
🛑 STOP 🛑
Stop demeaning yourself.
In the eyes of prospective clients you are already on the back foot...a second class citizen.
And even if they don't realise it consciously, they will treat you as such.
So stop with the subservient behaviour and language - it does not serve you.
Quite the contrary in fact.
Never apologise for doing your job.
You're in sales - the lifeblood of any business - and if done properly is one of the best professions on the planet.
Sales quite literally makes the world go round.
So hold your head up, put your shoulders back and be proud of what you do.
Assert yourself.
Provide insight.
And enter all of your interactions with the mindset of being an equal...a potential partner.
Then watch what happens to your overall performance.
