Uncomfortable silence or an intentional pause?

What's the difference between an uncomfortable silence and an intentional pause?

The former demonstrates lack of presence and usually comes about by accident.

The salesperson is not in control.

The latter is by design, and displays confidence, poise & presence.

The salesperson is firmly in control.

To turn the former into the latter requires practice, intention, confidence, timing and a conscious awareness.

And it will feel awkward at first...of course it will, you're training new muscle.

But you know what they say...to make an omelette you have to break a few eggs.

Silence is a superpower in sales.

You just need to know when to use it.
