"We're gonna have to let you go..."

Those brutal words

I heard them during a short stint as a salesperson years ago as we entered the 2008 recession.

Last in, first out.

It makes you feel powerless.

At the mercy of others.

I really needed that job, the money, the security.

The timing couldn't have been any worse.

But you know what?

It actually led to something better, where I made a lot more money.

So to anyone out there on the receiving end of this right now: -

*Do not lose faith

*Don't let it drag you down

*There's something better waiting

*Put yourself out there like never before

*In times of recession companies need good salespeople more than ever

*So get out there and be that person

*You're not helpless

*Do not let this situation define you

*You're stronger and more talented than you probably realise
