Acting & Sales

There's an acting exercise where two people sit opposite one another...

They make direct eye contact.

Each person will recite a banal sentence in a myriad of different ways to convey different meaning, emotion & feelings behind the words.

This is received by the other person.

And they respond in context.

It's called the Meisner technique and it's built on repetition, emotion & improvisation.

It's designed to unlock different forms of expression, upon which words are merely the vehicle of delivery.

The real meaning is conveyed by eye contact, body language, tone, pace, inflection and delivery.

In acting it's designed to bring about a more truthful performance.

To deepen the connection between two people.

Do you want to sound...

More credible?

More relatable?

More interesting?

- Experiment with the words

- Improvise

- Try different things

- Speak the words out loud in the park

- Record yourself on your phone

- Pair up with a colleague or a friend and do some role play

If you want to become a richer communicator...

a deeper awareness of how you communicate & respond to people can work wonders in helping you become more present, more empathetic, more authentic, and more human.

The more conscious you become, the more you'll improve your self-awareness & your ability to read the room.

As a communicator, you'll become a lot more effective.
