Always have your BS antenna up...

Particularly on LinkedIn...

If you work in sales, it's not difficult to scroll on here and find 100 pieces of advice before you've even had your porridge.

Yet one thing I've noticed - 'advice' is often regurgitated when it's clear the author doesn't fully understand the underlying psychology behind their guidance (which often comes out through challenging comments from people like me).

Much like during a sales meeting, NEVER just accept things at face value, just because it has a million likes.

In fact posts that do very well on here usually confirm people's own fears & shortcomings, thus giving them the support they so often crave as an excuse. In other words it's not their fault...and herd victim mentality takes hold.

If you're unsure - ask questions, get clarity, find out if these 'sales voices' & 'experts' can actually explain what they outlined.

Or was it cobbled together and spat out like a beta version of ChatGPT?

Understand if they are someone you actually want to follow.

Do they walk the walk?

Are they the real deal?

Or are they simply parroting what they heard elsewhere with little to no understanding, in the name of building their own 'personal brand' and selling you a course for £497?

Whilst there is nothing new under the sun, the people worth listening to understand the mechanics behind their advice.

And if not...they're most likely a wolf in sheep's clothing.
