You only have a few seconds to win over your audience...or die on the spot
Master it and you'll be on course for a long & successful career
You'll become equipped with invaluable interpersonal skills to serve you throughout your life
Your adoring public will crave your next performance
It takes guts and practice
It involves skilled human interaction and thinking on your feet to gain the interest of a complete stranger
Inspiring people to think differently about things.
Building credibility and trust in the process to leave a lasting impression
To the point they book a time to come and see you next week...maybe bringing one or two colleagues along for the show
The difference in sales is that you have a phone to hide behind
What a relief...
You're just a voice
And could be anyone
It's one-to-one & not to a room full of gawping strangers
You don't have to be funny (though it can help in breaking the ice)
But you do have to be engaging, credible & interesting.
Michael Mcintrye said it took him around 150 gigs to become a decent stand-up comedian
So don't give up & end up spending your prospecting time hiding behind email
Keep going
It'll pay huge dividends
