Credibility vs Likeability

Most salespeople I coach have one thing in common...
They're too nice.
They allow themselves to be pushed around by prospects.
Their only objective appears to be the 'need for approval'.
To be liked.
...in the belief that being liked = more sales.
This couldn't be further from the truth.
It doesn't mean turning into the Wolf of Wall Street on steroids.
But it does mean managing your emotional state & developing an empowered mindset.
Changing your behaviours & habits isn't easy.
It doesn't happen overnight.
It requires perseverance & a long-term commitment to change.
'You don't know what you don't know' - the first step is self-awareness.
And with the right guidance...you will grow & evolve.
You'll start to operate at a higher level.
Some salespeople I've coached have done a few sessions with me, understood everything I've taught them & made the necessary changes.
And in some cases a few months down the line when we've reconnected - we've jumped into a few more sessions, listened back to call recordings - only to find...they've slipped back into old habits.
An easy trap to fall into.
And the remedy?
Constant practice, repetition, self-awareness, introspection, doing things that make you uncomfortable, and...
Practice, Practice, Practice.
Find yourself a decent coach.
It takes around 3 months of DAILY PRACTICE to embed new behaviours.
So don't fall into the trap of doing something new for a few weeks, and then reverting back to type.
Change is either:
- Permanent
or
- Temporary
If it's temporary it's a waste of time & you may as well stay as you are.
The only goal is to make sure change is Permanent.
P.s/ if you're serious about making real long-lasting change & vastly outperforming your old self, DM me.
