Do you need to be liked to sell?

Some would argue you do

Others argue the opposite

My take -

Being liked obviously isn't a bad thing but it should only ever come about as a by-product of doing your job well.

If it's a salesperson's top priority they'll become subservient or needy & will most likely not challenge or ask tough questions through a FEAR of upsetting the prospect.

Building trust & credibility - this should be the top priority.

And you get there by performing your job really well.

This is how you earn you respect & is the very foundation of building a business relationship.

Which is far more important than being 'liked'.
