Don't take it Personally

Never ever take rejection on a cold call personally...
Why?
Because it can't be about you.
How could it be?
You've spoken for a few seconds.
There is absolutely no way the person on the end of the phone could know who you after a 20 second intro.
It's like that moment we all got rejected for the first time by a member of the opposite sex, who we only just laid eyes on.
They cannot reject 'you' on the basis of anything personal - how could they if they've never met you before?
It makes zero sense.
But they CAN reject the 'situation' and for a myriad of reasons -
Maybe they've had some poor experiences, perhaps you've caught them at a bad time, maybe they've just had a messy break-up, they might be in a relationship...
With just one caveat.
They can reject a bad opener.
So if you feel that's where you're falling down, then work on refining it till it's the very best it can be.
At which point you'll be a smooth operator with no reason whatsoever for taking anything to heart.
- So shift your mindset
- Take ownership
- Take emotion out
- Get creative
- And more important than anything else, enjoy it!
