When buying something we all like to feel we can trust the company we decide to go with...
With that in mind, who would be more likely to get your business from the following two companies?
Bland Incorporated: -
"Our company is a leading, customer-focused global provider of innovative solutions supported by cutting-edge technology, designed to empower organisations with different sources of value creation at their most critical moments of need.
We work with our clients to streamline their operations and optimise their workflow. Our integration process is second to none and we dovetail seamlessly with legacy systems."
Real Ltd: -
"We come up with answers to your most painful challenges. We may not have the slickest branding but that's not our business. Our expertise is in rolling up our sleeves and getting stuck into your biggest headaches. We're not so much innovators as problem solvers.
We aren't the cheapest but we are a highly competent team who provide lots of bang for your buck.
We have no costly marketing budget, we do no PR. Instead we put that cash into the running of the business itself to help provide an outstanding service. Our customers almost always come back."
I don't think I need to be Derren Brown to know who you went with.
It's an ironic situation - in trying to sound 'cutting edge', 'credible' and 'innovative' most companies sound exactly the same.
And so they blend into the noise.
Because of this their salespeople all sound the same.
As this is what they've been taught.
And it has a big knock-on effect.
There is literally nothing to differentiate them from their competition.
Their product or service becomes commoditised & transactional.
They get dragged into a price war.
I help salespeople and companies cut through this noise to transform their value proposition.
If you are interested in learning more I'll be running a workshop on this exact topic in the next few weeks.
