"My company is called ABC Ltd - have you heard of us?"

Spot the problem?
Well first of all, it's a completely pointless question.
Because it's all about you.
If they have heard of you - so what?
It could be negative.
And on the flip side, do you really think your prospect is going to turn around and say:
'Oh yeah, ABC Ltd! You're that really amazing company!
I've been waiting to hear from you and was actually going to reach out tomorrow to place an order.'
And if they haven't heard of you at all...awkward silence and then -
*The inevitable elevator pitch from said salesperson.*
Boring their 'victim' - sorry I meant 'prospect' - to death.
So save yourself the hassle.
And take a step back.
Then ask yourself -
"What problems do I solve that my prospect might actually relate to?"
This is where a 'conversation' starts.
So drop the self-serving monologue.
Because the truth is...no one cares about you or your company.
They care about their day-to-day stresses and frustrations.
So tune into that.
And forget everything to do with you.
