There are a lot of sales analogies made by people - myself included...


Sales is like dating

Sales is like acting

Sales is like being a parent

Sales is like being a therapist

Sales is like being a barrister

Sales is like being a bouncer (saw that one today)


The list could go on and on...


The reason?


Fundamentally sales is not about selling at all.


It's about human communication.


And if done well the outcome may well be a sale.


But the process - effective communication with another human being - that's what selling is.


If you make the sale, then this is merely a by-product of doing your job well


...that is making someone feel heard, understood & felt through the way you've communicated with them.


"It's not what you sell - it's how you sell."


And how you sell is rooted in eloquent & effective human communication.


Master this.
