Story telling in sales.
An extremely powerful tool to be leveraged.
People are far more likely to remember stories as opposed to just facts & figures.
Why?
It's biological.
* A good story activates a part of the brain that allows the listener to turn the story into their own ideas & experience. They literally see themselves in the story.
* The brain releases dopamine into the system when it experiences an emotionally charged event, making it easier to remember & with greater accuracy.
* A well told story also has the capacity to engage additional areas of the brain including the frontal cortex, sensory cortex & motor cortex.
The more parts that are involved, the deeper ingrained things become.
Logic will limit you.
But human emotion created through good story-telling has the power to transcend mere words & messages.
