Ever notice how people talk about the benefits of posting on LinkedIn every day to THEM?
- Earned them the title of 'Top Influencer'
- Increased sales by X%
- Invited on Podcasts
- Increased client base
etc
And don’t worry this isn't an exercise in self-righteousness, as I’ve done the same!
But in my mind it's about good karma - putting stuff out there to help people whilst enhancing your own career, business, sales & branding.
Personal gain is the by-product of bringing something of value to the table, without expecting anything in return.
So I thought I'd talk a bit about what posting on LinkedIn every day for 2 years has done for other people - based on messages & feedback I’ve received in that time: -
1 - Giving salespeople workable strategies they can run with immediately
2 - Lightbulb moments to offer a new perspective
3 - A solution to an ongoing problem
4 - A feeling of solidary they’re not alone due to sharing stories of experiences they’re currently struggling with
5 - A completely different mindset to enhance their sense of pride of working in sales
6 - The hard truth that their biggest sales problems are usually staring right back at them in the mirror
7 - The realisation that prospects are their equal & not their superior
8 - The endless possibilities of a career in sales and how it can be the best job in the world if you have: an open mind, curiosity, a growth mindset and a insatiable desire to learn about business, human psychology & communication
9 - Making someone's day when they were at their lowest point in months
10 - The idea that you should never take yourself too seriously, try to always have fun on the job & be a genuine human being...not a commission hungry robot. You will make far more money if you are the former.
11 - Why you should spend far more time on the problem than the solution
12 - Why the key to successful conversations is asking excellent questions & learning how to STFU
